Good girls sit home and sew in the dark
They don’t go out seeking fire in the witch’s woods

Opening March 10th at 17.00

March 11th until March 27th
open: Tue – Fri 9.00-17.00

Bone Mother shows the work of:
Robin Pieterse, Jerney de Wilde and Feline Zegers.

For this exhibition they individually depicted their visions on the Russian fairy tale ‘Vasilisa the Beautiful’. Combining digital with traditional techniques, they have
created three narrative series of illustrations.

Inspired by the rich world of folklore and storytelling, they return to the nostalgia of childhood, retrieving different life lessons, to then reflect on nature, family ties and feminine independence.

They question whether Baba Yaga, the witch in this story, should be considered a bad influence or an alternative source of guidance.

Net Niet expo!

‘Net Niet’ | X10
Lutherse Burgwal 5 | Den Haag

This Saturday will be the opening of my latest exhibition! My first in The Hague :). Join us for a drink at the opening of the exhibition ‘Net Niet’ (a Dutch term for ‘not quite’) and see the works of the young illustrators Father Futureback, Jerney de Wilde, Cris Kühlen, Marianne Lock, Robin Pieterse and Thomas Klaui and the young photographers, Lauren Hillebrandt, Joris Jansen, Taufiq Hosen, Gidi van Maarseveen, Wouter de Wit and Annick Ligtermoet.

This exhibition is executed in the form of a relay project where six photographers respond to the work of six illustrators that each made a work within the given theme ‘Net Niet’. In this interdisciplinary collaboration the participating artists are challenged to walk different paths and come to new ideas. The outcome of this project is a surprising mix of works that shows the diversity of styles, visions and ideas of the new generation.

‘Net Niet’ is an initiative that arose from the need to create an entrance for young and promising talents. The twelve works that result from this ambitious project will be exhibited in the new project space ‘X10′ in The Hague.

Opening May 21st 19.00 and ongoing until the 4th of June! Drop by, I would like that :).
