Stumbled upon this Fairy Ring in the Forest

Stumbled upon this Fairy Ring in the forest, which in Dutch is called ‘een Heksenkring’, a Witches’ Circle.

Because these rings appear suddenly overnight it was believed to be caused by dancing Fairies or Witches. Stepping in them would transport you to magical worlds. Disturbing them could cause all kinds of Bad Luck.

These are Clouded Funnel Mushrooms (Clitocybe nebularis) or Nevelzwam in Dutch. You can spot them quite often if you pay attention, however seeing one always feels very Magical to me ✨️
