People often ask me why I do my open studio and I always tell them “because of the conversations”. It is very refreshing to hear the associations visitors get from seeing my work for the first time or coming back, because they liked it so much their last visit.

This weekend two remarks that caught my attention were “very goth” and “raadselachtig” 🥰. Also lovely tips on other printmakers/artists to look up were exchanged, I met people I might collaborate with in the future, and had a few friends over to support me once again.

Behind the scenes the Open Studio is a great moment to reflect, it gave me some insights in what items to put in my webshop first and where to set course for the coming year. And last but not least, it is a good reason to tidy up, meaning I finally got rid of those horrid broken luxaflex that I managed to ignore for 5 years. Now my windows can happily shine in their full glory
