1-day workshop

Learn how to start your own Herbarium, by collecting and pressing plants, taking field notes and drawing from nature.

During this 1-day workshop at several beautiful outdoor locations, we will collect plant specimens, get tips on how to document them by drawing them and taking field notes.

After an introduction to ‘drawing from life’, and a short drawing exercise, you can make your own plant studies with all sorts of drawing materials.

You will also learn how to preserve specimens by pressing them in a plant press.

After the workshop you’ll go home with your studies, field notes and a first start in keeping your own Herbarium.

Tijdens deze workshop van 1 dag op diverse prachtige buitenlocaties, verzamelen we planten en krijg je tips over hoe je ze kunt documenteren door ze te tekenen en veldnotities te maken.

Na een introductie over ‘tekenen naar het leven’ en een korte tekenoefening, kun je vervolgens je eigen plantenstudies maken met uiteenlopende tekenmaterialen.

We gaan ook in op hoe je exemplaren kunt bewaren, door ze te drogen in een plantenpers.

Na afloop van de workshop ga je naar huis met je studies, veldnotities en het eerste begin van je eigen Herbarium!

You don’t need any drawing experience to do this workshop. We will start with some drawing assignments to get warmed up and I will help everyone on their own level.
