The Full Plant Course
In this course you will be guided, from beginning to end, through the process of collecting and pressing plants to make an Herbarium, making field studies, complete Botanical Drawings, and making a multi-layered Block Print of your favorite herb or plant.
All elements of the Medieval Botanical Illustration + the Herbarium Field Studies workshops, and more, come together in The Full Plant Course.
The lessons will be on a Sunday at a beautiful outdoor location and 5 Tuesday evenings at my Printmaking Studio.

LESSON #6: Experimental Printing + Presentation
Fall 2026 dates (sep-nov):
> Sunday 06-09 from 10:00-12:00h
> Tuesday 15-09, 29-09, 13-10, 27-10 + 10-11 from 19:00-21:00h
On the first Sunday we will start with an introduction about ‘Drawing from Nature’. You will make your own Herbal Studies, field notes and sketches and collect plants to start your own Herbarium.
During the second lesson we go into different styles of ‘Botanical Illustration’ (and specifically the medieval style) and make more detailed Botanical Drawings. In this lesson you can experiment with all sorts of drawing materials and test different colour combinations.
In lesson 3-5 we will transform our field studies and detailed drawings into a Blockprint Design, to resemble the typical medieval woodcut illustrations. We will make a two-layered-design and print on different types of paper.
The final lesson is for experimenting with printing on other materials and ways of presenting your work.
After this full course you’ll go home with your field-studies, botanical drawings, your growing Herbarium and a set of multi-layered block prints!
